Q’ero Mesa Mastana

This handmade textile is made by the Q’eros from Hatun Q'eros, a quechua community in the remote mountain areas of the Cusco region. As descendants of the Incas their weaving tradition goes thousands of years back. The Q’eros are part of a nature religion where they respect and honor mother earth and the mountain spirits they call ’apus’ and the mastana is traditionally used in ceremonies as a cloth on which offerings to Pachamama and the apus are being served or as a wrap for the shamans healing stones. This fabric has symbols of the sun God Tayta Inti. 100% wool, 65x68 cm
